Karen Martin is the editor of the Global News Podcast, the BBC's most popular podcast with around a million downloads a day. Karen began as a newspaper reporter before moving into radio and tv at the BBC.

She launched the new interactive news service for smart speakers for the BBC and now works on Word Service Radio in charge of The Newsroom Programme and the Global News Podcast.

Under her leadership, audience figures have gone from strength to strength and there have been special editions on a range of issues including Coronavirus, Afghanistan, Ukraine and Abortion Rights.
